Who writes the guides
Every guide is written by Brandon Hayes, an audio restoration engineer working in Nashville, Tennessee, and is based on his own sessions. Client material used as an example has identifying details removed. Read more on the about page.
Version scope
Each guide names the RX version and edition it was written against. The current reference is RX 12 (released in April 2026). Where an older version behaves differently, the guide says so instead of assuming every reader is on the latest release. Module names, menu positions and default values are checked against the installed software, not remembered.
Sources
Facts that can change — edition contents, system requirements, release notes, pricing — are checked against iZotope's own documentation and release notes at the time of writing and linked where practical. Community reports are quoted as reports, not as measurements. Nothing here reproduces vendor before-and-after figures as if they were independent tests.
What a guide must contain
- A real, broken starting file, not a clean demo.
- The exact module, parameter and value range used.
- A number whenever one approach is claimed to beat another.
- A plain statement of what the software could not fix.
Independence
The site carries no display advertising and accepts no sponsored posts. There are currently no affiliate links; if that ever changes, the link will be labelled on the page where it appears and it will only point to a product used in paid sessions. iZotope RX World is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by iZotope or Boris FX.
Corrections
If a setting no longer matches the software or a claim can be disproved with a file, send it through the contact page. Material corrections are made in the article, the revision date is updated, and significant changes are noted at the point in the text where they apply.
